Festival Holidays for the year 2008 declared u/s 49-1

of the Factories Act, 1934 by the Government of Sindh


In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 49-1 of the Factories Act, 1934, (XXV of 1934), the Government of Sindh are pleased to declare that the following holidays will be observed as Festival Holidays by all the workers during the year 2008: -

The following days shall also be observed as Festival Holidays by the workers belonging to the Communities shown below.

Note:- The Muslim Festival holidays will be subject to the appearance of Moon as per decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee which be communicated through various information media.


The Muslim workers belonging to an establishment, as a body at their option but with seven day notice to the employers, may observe, Festival Holidays on Shab-e-Barat and Shab-e-Miraj in lieu of any of the Festival Holidays listed in para 1 above.


There will be no substitution of holidays falling on Sunday.
